Sabreo Education – Terms and Conditions

1. About Sabreo Education and Acceptance of Terms

Sabreo Education is a provider of online, one-to-one tutoring services designed to support students aged 6 to 18 years inclusive. Our services are delivered exclusively through digital platforms in a personalised, individual learning format.

By enrolling a student in our services, parents, legal guardians, and students (where applicable) hereby acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. Continued use of Sabreo Education’s services constitutes ongoing acceptance of these terms.

These Terms and Conditions form a binding contractual agreement between the parent/guardian (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Client’) and Sabreo Education. References to ‘you’ or ‘your’ throughout this document refer to the Client.

2. Description of Services Provided

Sabreo Education provides educational tutoring services delivered exclusively online through approved digital platforms. All tutoring is conducted on a one-to-one basis only, with no group sessions offered.

Each tutoring lesson is 60 minutes in duration. This duration is fixed and applies to all sessions without exception.

Services are structured as monthly packages, available in two formats:

  • 4 lessons per month (one lesson per week on average)
  • 8 lessons per month (two lessons per week on average)

Sabreo Education operates its tutoring services from September through to July each academic year. The organisation is closed during the month of August, during which no tutoring sessions are scheduled or delivered. Clients will not be charged for the month of August.

3. Payment Terms and Processing

Payment for tutoring services is due at the beginning of each calendar month. Payments are processed in advance of service delivery for that month.

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Direct Debit (preferred method)
  • PayPal
  • Bank transfer

In the event that a Direct Debit payment fails or is rejected by the Client’s financial institution, Sabreo Education will issue a payment reminder on the same day the failure is identified. Tutoring sessions will continue to be delivered for a grace period of up to 7 calendar days from the date of the failed payment.

If payment has not been received within the 7-day grace period, Sabreo Education reserves the right to pause or suspend the provision of tutoring services until such time as the outstanding payment is settled in full. No refund will be provided for sessions delivered during the grace period if payment is not subsequently received.

All prices are quoted in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) unless otherwise stated. Sabreo Education reserves the right to adjust pricing with reasonable notice to Clients.

4. Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued under certain circumstances, subject to evaluation and approval at the sole discretion of Sabreo Education. Each refund request will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

In circumstances where tutoring services are terminated or discontinued by the Client mid-month (i.e., before all scheduled sessions for that month have been delivered), a refund for unused sessions may be requested. Such refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis and will be processed upon formal request from the Client, subject to approval.

Refund requests should be submitted in writing via email or through Sabreo Education’s designated communication channels. Processing of approved refunds will typically occur within 14 business days of approval.

No refunds will be issued for sessions that have already been delivered or for sessions missed due to the Client’s failure to provide adequate cancellation notice as specified in Section 5 of these Terms and Conditions.

5. Cancellations and Missed Lessons

Clients wishing to cancel a scheduled tutoring session must provide a minimum of 24 hours’ advance notice. Notice must be communicated through Sabreo Education’s approved communication channels (email, messaging platform, or phone contact).

Cancellations made with appropriate notice (24 hours or more) will result in the session being rescheduled to an alternative mutually convenient time within the same calendar month, subject to tutor availability. Alternatively, the Client may elect to forfeit the session without financial penalty.

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation charge at Sabreo Education’s discretion. Such sessions may not be eligible for rescheduling or refund.

No-call, no-show sessions—defined as instances where neither the student nor the parent/guardian attends the scheduled session without any prior communication or notification—are considered delivered sessions and are non-refundable. These sessions will be counted as completed within the monthly package allocation.

In circumstances where Sabreo Education initiates the cancellation of a scheduled lesson (due to tutor illness, technical difficulties, or other operational reasons), the affected session will either be rescheduled to a mutually convenient alternative time or refunded in full at the Client’s preference. No penalty or charge will apply to the Client in such cases.

6. Termination of Services

Clients may cancel or terminate tutoring services at any time. Notice of cancellation should be provided in writing via email or other approved communication methods. Termination will take effect from the end of the current billing month unless otherwise agreed.

Upon termination initiated by the Client, any unused sessions within the current month may be eligible for pro-rata refund as detailed in Section 4, subject to Sabreo Education’s approval.

Sabreo Education reserves the right to terminate or suspend the provision of services to any Client under the following circumstances:

  • Non-payment or persistent late payment of fees
  • Misconduct, inappropriate behaviour, or abuse directed towards tutors or staff
  • Breach of these Terms and Conditions
  • Circumstances where continuing the service would be detrimental to the tutor, other clients, or the organisation

Where Sabreo Education terminates services due to Client breach or misconduct, no refund will be provided for the remainder of the month or any unused sessions.

7. Behaviour and Conduct Expectations

Sabreo Education maintains professional standards and expects respectful, appropriate conduct from all students during tutoring sessions. Disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behaviour undermines the learning environment and will not be tolerated.

Sabreo Education operates a three-strike warning system for managing behavioural concerns where after the third strike has been handed, a meeting will be held with the parent/guardian.

In cases of serious misconduct—including but not limited to abusive language, threatening behaviour, harassment, discriminatory remarks, or safeguarding concerns—Sabreo Education reserves the right to terminate services immediately without prior warning and without refund.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that students understand and adhere to expected behavioural standards during all tutoring sessions.

8. No Guarantee of Academic Results

Whilst Sabreo Education endeavours to provide high-quality tutoring designed to support student learning and academic development, we do not guarantee any specific academic results, grades, examination outcomes, or educational achievements.

Academic progress depends on numerous factors including, but not limited to, student effort, engagement, attendance, prior knowledge, learning environment, school curriculum, and external examination boards. Many of these factors lie outside the control of Sabreo Education.

Sabreo Education is not responsible for, and accepts no liability in relation to:

  • Decisions made by schools, colleges, or educational institutions
  • Examination results or assessment outcomes
  • University admissions, scholarship applications, or placement decisions
  • Changes to curriculum content or examination specifications by external boards

Clients acknowledge that tutoring is a supplementary educational service designed to support, but not replace, formal schooling and independent study.

9. Safeguarding and Session Recording

The safety and welfare of all students is of paramount importance to Sabreo Education. In order to safeguard both students and tutors, all online tutoring sessions are recorded by Sabreo Education.

Session recordings are utilised for the following purposes:

  • Safeguarding and child protection monitoring
  • Quality assurance and service improvement
  • Tutor training and professional development
  • Resolution of disputes or complaints

By enrolling in Sabreo Education’s services, Clients provide explicit consent for session recording. Recordings are stored securely, accessed only by authorised personnel, and handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation as detailed in Section 11.

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing a suitable, safe, and distraction-free learning environment for students during tutoring sessions. This includes ensuring appropriate internet connectivity, a quiet space conducive to learning, and supervision where appropriate based on the age and needs of the student.

Any safeguarding concerns identified during sessions will be handled in accordance with Sabreo Education’s Safeguarding Policy and may be reported to relevant external authorities where necessary.

10. Intellectual Property Rights

All teaching materials, resources, lesson plans, worksheets, presentations, and other educational content provided by Sabreo Education during tutoring sessions remain the intellectual property of Sabreo Education and its tutors unless otherwise stated.

Materials provided to students are for personal educational use only. Clients and students are expressly prohibited from:

  • Redistributing, sharing, or publishing materials to third parties
  • Using materials for commercial purposes
  • Reproducing or copying materials without express written consent from Sabreo Education

Unauthorised use, distribution, or reproduction of Sabreo Education’s materials may constitute a breach of intellectual property rights and may result in termination of services and potential legal action.

11. Data Protection and Privacy

Sabreo Education is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all Clients and students. All personal information is collected, processed, stored, and handled in strict accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Personal data collected may include, but is not limited to:

  • Names, contact details, and email addresses of parents/guardians and students
  • Educational information such as age, year group, subjects studied, and learning needs
  • Payment and billing information
  • Session recordings and attendance records

This data is used solely for the purposes of providing tutoring services, communicating with Clients, processing payments, safeguarding, and improving service quality.

Full details of how Sabreo Education collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data are outlined in our Privacy Policy, which is available upon request and should be read in conjunction with these Terms and Conditions.

Clients have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held by Sabreo Education, subject to legal and operational requirements. Such requests should be submitted in writing.

12. Dispute Resolution

Sabreo Education is committed to resolving any concerns, complaints, or disputes in a fair, transparent, and timely manner.

In the first instance, Clients are encouraged to raise any concerns or complaints directly with Sabreo Education through informal communication via email or phone. We will endeavour to address and resolve issues promptly and amicably through open dialogue.

If informal resolution is not achieved, Clients may submit a formal written complaint detailing the nature of the dispute and any attempts at informal resolution. Sabreo Education will investigate the matter and provide a formal response within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 14 business days.

Should a dispute remain unresolved following Sabreo Education’s internal complaints process, Clients may seek external mediation or legal recourse as appropriate. However, Clients are required to have first exhausted Sabreo Education’s internal dispute resolution procedures before pursuing formal legal action.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any disputes or claims arising from or in connection with them or their subject matter, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their formation, validity, or enforceability.

By enrolling in Sabreo Education’s tutoring services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
